PMI-ACP Certification Exam
Launched last March 2018, the updated PMI-ACP exam still features the outline of the previous exam content but now incorporates the terminology present in the new Agile Practice Guide. The certification exam is a 3-hour long exam consisting of 120 multiple-choice questions. Twenty of these questions are considered as pretest questions, which do not affect your scores. Pretest questions are only used to test the validity of future questions and are randomly placed throughout the exam. PMI-ACP exam validates your competencies with agile practices in project management as well as your professional versatility with agile tools and techniques. Specifically, the domains are allocated with the following percentages:

- Value-driven Delivery: 20%
- Stakeholder Engagement: 17%
- Team Performance: 16%
- Adaptive Planning: 12%

- Continuous Improvement (Product, Process, People): 9%
To take the exam, you should obtain the following prerequisites. Firstly, work experience on a general project with a team for 2,000 hours or otherwise, a valid PMP or PgMP. Secondly, work experience on agile project teams or those adopting agile methodologies for 1,500 hours. And lastly, training in agile practices for 21 contact hours is needed. The exam is mostly administered through computer-based testing, but paper-based testing can be available under limited circumstances. Prices vary whether you are a member or a non-member that is, USD$435 for members and USD$495 for those who are not.
PMI-ACP Exam Preparation
Make sure to grab the new Agile Practice Guide as one of your reference materials for the exam. Once you passed, maintaining this certification requires you to earn and report 30 professional development units (PDUs) in agile topics within three years.
